For more than a decade, Sean Richardson has been an important advisor to the Democratic Leadership in both the House of Representatives and Senate. Sean brings the clients of Peck Madigan Jones hands-on experience in navigating the political process, managing crises and implementing successful legislative strategies.
Since leaving Capitol Hill, the majority of his work has been in the health care and financial services arena. With passage of the Affordable Care Act, he has worked on a variety of implementation issues for clients across the health care spectrum.
The fiscal crisis, economic downturn and debt reduction conversation has put an increasing amount of pressure on clients who have government contracts and revenue streams. In light of these political trade-winds, Sean spends much of his time helping clients maximize their government opportunity, limit their revenue exposure and building coalitions to help tell the story of their value proposition. Sean is particularly skilled at integrating policy, political and communications strategy.
Named one of the top “50 Politicos to Watch” by Politico, Sean served as Chief of Staff to Senator Amy J. Klobuchar (D-MN) and Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy (D-RI). In those positions, he was the primary advisor on all legislative, communications and political affairs for the Members. Sean also served as their liaison to the House and Senate Leadership.
A veteran of numerous political campaigns, Sean honed his legislative and communications skills while serving as Policy Associate for Senate Democratic Leader Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD) and Policy Advisor to House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt (D-MO).
