Len Swinehart
Len Swinehart has more than 20 years experience working in the House of Representatives, including 10 years with the House Republican Leadership. Mr. Swinehart’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative process, House operations, the appropriations process and Congressional budget process have been instrumental in developing and executing our clients’ legislative strategies.  Several of his recent achievements include:
  • Securing funding for state and municipal agencies, such as the expansion of the Brooklyn Public Library and biotechnology projects for the State of Iowa.
  • Assisting the music industry, technology companies and pharmaceutical clients with intellectual property (copyright, patent and trademark) issues.
  • Helping secure passage of Trade Promotion Authority, granting the President the authority to negotiate trade deals that promote economic growth and prosperity for American businesses.
When on Capitol Hill, Mr. Swinehart served as the Senior Floor Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Representative Newt Gingrich (R-GA). As Senior Floor Assistant, Mr. Swinehart managed the Office for Legislative Floor Activities, which oversaw scheduling of legislation and all major initiatives that would be considered by the House, appointing Members to House Conference Committees, assisting committees with matters of jurisdiction and coordinating Floor matters between Republican and Democrat Leadership offices.

Prior to working in Leadership offices, Mr. Swinehart was a Deputy Staff Director for the House Budget Committee, where he was responsible for analyzing national security matters and their impact on budget policy. Prior to serving as Deputy Staff Director, Mr. Swinehart was the Chief of Staff and Budget Associate for Representative Vin Weber (R-MN).  Mr. Swinehart began his political career as a Special Assistant to Representative Harold Sawyer (R-MI).
