Sarah T. Smith joined Peck, Madigan, Jones & Stewart in April of 2009 and currently serves as a Research Associate, focusing on a broad range of issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith worked for more than two years in the United States Senate, first for former Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and then for Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand, both of New York. During her time with Senator Clinton, she assisted the foreign affairs and defense policy staff with legislative research, in addition to facilitating the constituent services division in the Washington D.C. office. While in Senator Gillibrand’s office, she worked with the Legislative Director on a variety of projects, specifically relating to defense and non-defense appropriations.

Ms. Smith graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola College in Maryland.
