Kristen Harper serves as a Research Associate focusing on a portfolio of financial services and international trade. She is responsible for monitoring congressional and regulatory activity, including: tracking relevant legislation and regulation, producing memos on congressional hearings, drafting legislative and regulatory briefs, and producing research projects based on client needs. She additionally prepares a comprehensive weekly outlook, known as the "Financial Services Week Ahead," which provides clients with a forecast of upcoming congressional and regulatory action, as well as industry news and events. Kristen also coordinates the firm’s federal compliance requirements by filing lobbying registrations, as required by the Lobbying Disclosure Act.
Kristen joined the Peck Madigan Jones team in the summer of 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she served New Jersey constituents in the district office of Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ). Kristen also interned for a D.C. based lobbying firm, where she tracked and analyzed higher education legislation and regulation.
Kristen graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. At Saint Joseph’s, she worked as a Research Assistant to Dr. Becki Scola, where she focused on anti-hunger initiatives throughout Pennsylvania, and assisted in the publication of Dr. Scola's textbook: Gender, Race, and Office Holding: Representations at the Intersections.
