Drew Cantor joined Peck Madigan Jones in January 2008 with more than 15 years of government and public affairs experience. During his service on Capitol Hill, Drew served on the senior staff of the Senate Republican Conference for more than four years, serving two Conference Chairs – former Senators Connie Mack (R-FL) and Rick Santorum (R-PA). Prior to joining the firm, Drew was Vice President and Director of Federal Affairs for the American Insurance Association (AIA). In that capacity, he worked with AIA’s top management and member companies on priority issues such as Optional Federal Charter legislation, Terrorism Risk Insurance and matters pertaining to credit-based insurance scoring.
Drew focuses primarily on the firm’s financial services clients, spending much of his time on implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Among other things, he tracks the development of the newly created Federal Insurance Office (FIO) and the process of designating systemically important financial institutions (SIFIs) for the firm’s insurance clients. For securities and investment clients, he closely follows the implementation of the derivatives provisions of Dodd-Frank, tracks developments related to Industrial Loan Corporations (ILCs) for a manufacturing company and advocates for the continued use of credit scores in measuring credit default risk for a credit scoring firm.
